Using the library
Libraries are open to all. They are places to work, study, play and stay. There are also guided tours, advice, organised visits, events and exhibitions.
Everyone is entitled to a library card, regardless of where they live. The library card of Loimaa City Library is available in all Loisto libraries. Borrowed material can also be returned free of charge to all Loisto libraries. The first library card is free of charge.
If the Loisto libraries do not have the material you need, you can make an interlibrary loan request. Interlibrary loan fees: interlibrary loans from public libraries cost €5, interlibrary loans from scientific and specialised libraries are subject to a fee from the sending library (starting at €9).
Efforts have been made to make access to the libraries accessible: access is at ground level or there is a wheelchair ramp at the entrance. There is disabled parking near the main doors. There are disabled toilets on the premises. The main library also has a lift and a doorbell which staff can ring to assist.
Accessibility has also been taken into account in the materials: all libraries have access to home services, and the collections include audio books, large-text books and non-fiction books.
The library staff will be happy to help you with your search, e-resources or other library-related questions.
Remember to inform the library of your new address. The library does not receive information about address changes automatically. You can check and, if necessary, update your own contact details by logging into the online library. You can also enter your new details when you visit the library.
