Summer jobs for young people
Every year, various service sectors in the city of Loimaa offer summer jobs to a number of young people from Loimaa. Support is also available to companies and associations to help them hire a summer worker.
Call for summer jobs in the city for 2025
In 2024, summer jobs in the city will be available for young people born in Lomaa in 2007-2008. The application for summer jobs 2025 will open in February 2025.
In 2024 summer work was paid at 700€. The job lasts four weeks in June or July. The daily working time is 6 hours. During the summer work period, you will accrue two days of holiday, which must be taken during the employment relationship. Summer jobs are organised in various departments, associations and clubs in the city. Summer jobs are available in areas such as cleaning services, catering, the flea market/coffee shop, childcare, sports clubs, gardening, village associations, the arts centre, theatres and day camps. Young people are selected by lot, with a maximum of one summer job per young person.
Support for businesses to hire a young person born in Lomaa in 2004-2009 for 2024
The City of Loimaa has earmarked business grants for 2024 to hire young people born between 2004 and 2009.
Half of the gross wage is paid, up to a maximum of €500 per person employed. The gross salary must be at least €1000 to qualify for the €500 subsidy. If the salary is less than this, the subsidy is half of the salary. The aid is applied for retrospectively using an electronic form by 30.11.2024. After that date, no application will be accepted.

Summer housing benefit for university students
The city also wants to support university students who come to work in companies in Lomaa for the summer. University or polytechnic students studying technology or business management can rent an apartment from Hulmin Huolto for three months at a one-month rent. The number of apartments available depends on the number of apartments available.
