Planning and land use
The purpose of land-use planning is to design an urban environment that serves citizens and businesses, so that the urban fabric is well-managed, economical and environmentally sustainable.
The city’s surveying department takes the measurements required for construction and maintains the maps and geospatial data that enable the functioning of the community and additional development. The City of Loimaa is responsible for the real estate register and surveying in the areas of the binding plot division (Loimaa city centre) and the Land Surveyor’s Office is responsible for the rest of the Loimaa area.
The City acquires land primarily as “raw land” in areas that have not been zoned, with the aim of having at least the amount of land and plots required for housing, zoning and land use programmes and for community development.
