Renovation of the water supply system on Turuntie to begin

The water utility will begin renovation work on Turuntie starting May 11. The project will affect traffic in downtown Loimaa, as well as local activities and events, throughout the summer.

Through traffic on Turuntie will be suspended for the summer. Service traffic will be maintained despite the construction site. To ensure workplace safety and the safety of people in the area, vehicle traffic will not be permitted in the work zone.

Work will begin between Vesikoskenkatu and Pekankuja. These streets will also be closed to vehicle traffic. Once the preparatory work on this section is complete, work will proceed toward Väinämöisenkatu. The previously completed section will not yet be opened to traffic, as work in the area continues.

Information regarding the work on Väinämöisenkatu, schedules, and traffic arrangements will be provided separately once a more detailed schedule is confirmed. Similar to the Satakunnantie renovation, Väinölänkatu will be converted to two-way traffic at the Rantatie intersection. Traffic arrangements will change during the summer.

Loimaan Vesi will arrange service access to stores and access to properties. However, people in the area should be prepared for detours, especially pedestrians. Those visiting the area should be prepared to park on adjacent streets, as Turuntie will be closed to through traffic. Access to shops will be available on foot throughout the duration of the work.

The construction site will cause traffic disruptions, but efforts will be made to minimize them. Information for businesses and residents will be provided through property managers. Up-to-date information can be found on Loimaan Vesi’s website (in Finnish).

According to the current schedule, the work is expected to be completed in September 2026.
