Opening of summer

The traditional opening of summer will be celebrated again on Saturday 24.5. In a joyful event, Lomaa associations, clubs and companies will present their activities in the Central Park and the Market Square. There will be fun and excitement for everyone and all ages.

The event opens at 12 noon on the stage. The opening words will be spoken by Paavo Laaksonen, Development Director on behalf of the City of Loimaa. The stage will feature the Kauppala Big Band, the Music School’s Poppis band, the Dance School’s dance group, the Loimaa Christian Pensioners Choir and Dr. Papas. More detailed programme below.

The event includes raffles, guessing, quizzes, memory games, precision throwing, drawing, colouring, building birdhouses, playing petanque, tractors, a bouncy castle, eco- and airsoft weapons, collecting school memories, a Touko health bus, Hellikki dogs to scratch… In addition to all the things to do, you can buy snacks and drinks from various stands and veterans’ pea soup from the soup cannon.

Vesikoskenkatu closed

Please note the special driving arrangements! Vesikoskenkatu is closed between Kauppalankatu and Heimolinnankatu (i.e. the upper part of the market). Association activities are located on the closed part of Vesikoskenkatu.
