Traditional Summer Kickoff

Once again, it’s time to gather in large numbers at the Market Square and Central Park. This year, the event will take place a little earlier, on May 16; the schedule remains the same as before, with the event starting at 12:00 PM and ending at 3:00 PM.

Throughout the day, various organizations will showcase their work, and there will be plenty of activities to enjoy, including the chance to purchase local delicacies. Some of the activities will take place at Market Square and others at Central Park, so come on down and explore what’s on offer.

Getting Around the Market Square Area

Please note that Vesikoskenkatu is closed between Kauppalankatu and Heimolinna. Cars are not permitted in the market square during the event. There are already exceptional traffic arrangements in the city center due to the renovation of the water supply system on Turuntie, so please check your routes in advance and avoid unnecessary driving in the area.
