The LiikU autumn campaign has ended

LiikU syksyllä päätti liikkuen läpi vuoden -kampanja kokonaisuuden.

A total of 621 363 kilometres were covered in the ‘Keep moving in autumn’ campaign and a staggering 2 266 291 kilometres in the ‘Keep moving all year round’ campaign (Keep moving in winter, Challenge cycling and Keep moving in autumn). This is almost half a million kilometres more than last year. The aim of the campaign has been to encourage people of all ages and levels in south-west Finland to exercise according to their own goals, and at the same time to accumulate kilometres for their local authority in the municipal race.

During the autumn campaign, between 1 September and 30 November, you could register for a wide range of different outdoor sports in autumn, including frisbee golf, walking, pole walking, running, cycling, mountain biking, canoeing, hiking, rollerblading, cross-country skiing and skating, swimming, orienteering and applied sports. So there was sure to be a sport for everyone and everyone could participate according to their own mileage goals.

The data was collected using the free Moving Through the Year mobile app, which works on smartphones, tablets and computers, but exercise cards and exercise booklets were also used in some municipalities and their performance has been included in the final results. The campaign involved 41 municipalities competing in three different categories.

Loimaa was ranked 6th in the category of large municipalities. Loimaa Sports Services will draw prizes among Loimaa participants and will contact the winners of the draw directly and privately.

Results and ranking of the number of kilometres travelled in relation to the population of the city/commune. The following municipalities won the municipal race:

  • Siikainen won the under 5 000 inhabitants category
  • Kokemäki won the over 5 000 inhabitants category
  • Naantali won the over 10 000 inhabitants category

The aim of the Moving Through the Year campaign was to get people to exercise with a low threshold and challenge them to try different types of exercise, and the winning municipalities have been very successful in this, says Juha Koskelo, LiikU’s Health Exercise Developer.

The campaign was organised in cooperation with LiikU and the sports agencies of the participating municipalities. LiikU and the municipalities will draw prizes among all participants, of which the winners will be notified separately.

The free Moving all year round app works all year round for the LiikU Winter, Challenge Cycling and LiikU Autumn campaigns. Suitable for all ages and levels, the app allows you to record your mileage in 18 different sports, which you can keep as part of your history.
