Status report on outdoor skating rinks and cross-country ski trails 12.12.24

A brief overview of the situation of outdoor skating rinks and cross-country skiing tracks.
The winter weather is coming with varying winds, sometimes frosty, sometimes above zero, not much snow yet but we are looking forward to the completion of the skating rinks and cross-country ski runs as soon as the conditions allow.

Ice is currently being frozen at various ice rinks and rinks around the city, but weather conditions will affect progress. Rink bases are not yet fully in place, so there may be uneven surfaces. Bring caution if you want to try it out already (wear a helmet). Thaw always brings its own challenges in keeping the ice in good condition. In addition to the city, outdoor ice is also maintained by contractors and volunteers, for example in the villages, in order to get the ice in skating condition.

The situation on the ski slopes remains uncertain. There is not yet enough snow to prepare the bases of the tracks, but as soon as there is enough snow, work will start on the bases and the aim is to get the tracks ready as soon as possible.
