Christmas tree collection 2024 in Loimaa libraries

Loimaa traditionally participates in the Christmas Tree collection, which gathers gifts for children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who might otherwise go unremembered.

This year the collection will take place from 18th until 29th of November and it is organised by MLL Loimaa City Association, MLL Alastaro Association and MLL Mellilä Association.

The collection points are all Loimaa libraries, i.e. the main library in Loimaa and local libraries in Alastaro, Hirvikoski and Mellilä. Gifts can also be taken to Cafe Vihannonkulma in Turunti.

Collection instructions:

• Pick up a parcel card from the Christmas tree at the collection point. The card will show the age and gender of the recipient. Please take these criteria into account when purchasing a gift.
• The gift can be new or homemade, but it must be unused. Popular gifts have included gift cards, board games, sports equipment and cinema tickets. For more tips, visit the Christmas Tree website.
• Donations can only be made electronically via the eChristmas tree. For more information, visit the eJouletree website: https: //joulupuu.org/. Please do not buy lottery tickets, other Veikkaus products or intoxicants.
• Deliver the unwrapped gift and the attached parcel card to the collection point by Friday 29th November. The local libraries in Alastaro and Mellilä are closed on Fridays.
