Sustainable development
Sustainable development is a global, regional and local process of continuous and managed social change aimed at securing good living conditions for present and future generations. This also means taking equal account of the environment, people and the economy in decision-making and action.
Loimaa is in the Hinku network
The Hinku network is a network of pioneers in climate change mitigation, established in 2008, bringing together municipalities committed to ambitious emission reductions, companies offering climate-friendly products and services, and energy and climate experts.
The Hinku network shares information on best practices in climate change mitigation, supports municipalities’ climate work and creates demand for climate-friendly products and services.
The Hinku network was created in the Towards a carbon-neutral municipality project led by the Finnish Environment Institute. The Hinku network continues the work started in the project to reduce municipalities’ climate emissions, promote local well-being and improve the conditions for business and industry.
